I learned to meditate in London in the early 1970s and soon afterwards trained as a meditation teacher after going on several intensive retreats. Meditation has given me the courage to follow my hunches and I believe my life has been much the richer for it.
I’ve worked in the theatre, written books, been a photographer, worked with hill farmers, documented different spiritual paths, and in 1998 founded the Meditation Centre in Cumbria. My latest passion is skiing. Once we experience a direct connection with that source of creative energy within us, I believe that anything is possible . . . and this is why I love to teach.
Eliza Harrison has been teaching meditation nationally and internationally since 1973. Her unique gift is to enable every student to experience the ease and simplicity of meditation and realize its far-reaching benefits. Eliza is also a photographer and author and has published several books documenting the life and landscape of the north of England. She has also written her own story In Search of Freedom – One Woman's Journey.

None of us want to feel limited in the way we live our lives and pursue our passions. Yet so many of us journey through life with the brakes on to the detriment of our health, vitality and happiness.
As an osteopath, I am aware that the beliefs and perceptions we accumulate over a lifetime generate persistent patterns of tension that affect everything we think, feel and do. Through meditation, however, I have come to realize that we all have the capacity to move beyond our limitations and, when we do, we lead much fuller and richer lives . . . which is what our teaching is all about.
David Harrison has worked as an osteopath for almost forty years and understands the effects of long-term patterns of tension and ways that we can help ourselves to release them. He has lived in the Lake District all his life and has a passion for the outdoors. His interests include mountain biking, skiing and working with wood, especially making stringed instruments. He now aspires to build a lute.
